This is a scenic, blooming pedestrian walkway featuring an eclectic variety of plants. Once a busy thoroughfare connecting Lake Lure to Chimney Rock, this historic bridge was built in 1925 and reclassified as a pedestrian walkway in 2011 when a new bridge was constructed and opened for traffic. This meandering bridge full of art, ornaments, bees, butterflies, birds, and of course tons of blooming flowers is truly something to experience.

Lake Lure Foot Golf

Footgolf  originally started out as fun for parties and groups of friends, but it has now started to grow in popularity, especially with families. Footgolf is played the same way as golf, except players us a soccer ball instead of a golf ball, and the ball is kicked rather than using a club. The target is a 21-inch cup in place of the usual golf hole. Just like traditional golf, there are par 3s, 4s, and 5s with reduced hole lengths due to the shorter distance a ball can be kicked vs a golf ball.

Parker-Binns Winery

25 minutes from Four Seasons Cabins

This family-owned winery is our favorite. It kind of feels like it’s in the middle of nowhere – but the land and the tasting room is full of activities and views. The wine is fantastic and the live music makes it even better – it’s worth the trip to visit this winery.

Stay in Lake Lure and have the time of your life!

When movie producers were looking for the perfect lake resort shooting location for Dirty Dancing, they chose Lake Lure, North Carolina. Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, this charming town hugs a serenely beautiful man-made lake and is just a few minutes away from the world-famous Chimney Rock State Park. It’s a perfect destination for a spring, summer or autumn family vacation.
