Chimney Rock Park: Located just a mile away from our cabins, Chimney Rock Park has been a favorite of travelers for 100 years. Enjoy the dramatic views from the top of the 500 million year old monolith chimney, hike a variety of trials and see one of North Carolina's highest waterfalls (featured in the movie The Last of the Mohicans). Restaurants: When you need refreshment from hiking and playing at the lake, there are many restaurants nearby to try. Walk across the street to Child's Corner for a great country breakfast or for dinner at El Sureno Mexican restaurant. Other neaby favorites include Coffee Crumbs (with wireless internet), Lakeside Pizza, Point of View, Duncans BBQ, Old Rock Cafe, Riverwatch Deli, and Kristi's Cinnamon Rolls.

Shopping: Walk to the Dish Barn Glass Outlet or browse through one of the nearby antique or art galleries. Stroll along the Riverwalk in the village of Chimney Rock and visit the many gift shops, like the Old Cider Mill. Get some deals at Tanner Factory Outlet or go to nearby Hendersonville for some 100 shops downtown.

Fall Color: The Autumn peak color for the mountains around Lake Lure and Chimney Rock area is usually the last week of October through the first week of November. Often, the fall color show will last into mid November. Make reservations for your cabin rental early!
